Rob Green
Ten years ago while working as an employee benefits specialist at a national insurance company, Rob Green decided that he would have more opportunities to use his creativity and innovation if he was working for clients rather than their insurers. He made the switch and launched a successful career as a consultant, obtaining a Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (RBEC) designation, followed by a Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation. Rob is currently working towards his Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation.
"A new way to look at Corporate Benefits" has been Rob's motto over the years. He thrives on thinking outside the box to find unique solutions for clients that are clearly understood by management and employees. The strategy works - the average renewal rate negotiated by Rob for his clients in 2009 had no impact to their bottom line.
Rob has serviced hundreds of clients over the past 12 years and he has built a reputation for doing what he says he will do. He assumes nothing and is meticulous about detail, research, and preparation for every client meeting. Rob believes that, in order to do his job well, he needs to completely understand his client's goals. He works hard to develop insights into an organization's culture that can help shape unique solutions to employee benefit needs.
In an industry that is highly individualistic, Rob recognized the benefits of aligning himself with a team of experienced, like-minded, professionals who could work together to improve the service offered to all clients. Rob's firm joined The Winch Group in 2009 and continues to work with his many clients, supporting a wide range of plan designs and funding alternatives.
Rob has been a significant force in the Burlington community as a volunteer and fundraiser for charities that support youth and cancer research. Over the past seven years, Rob chaired the Hamilton-Burlington YMCA Strong Kids Charity Golf tournament, which has raised over $350,000 for the local "Strong Kids" programs. He has also been involved with the Burlington International Games (B.I.G.), an annual, not-for-profit event that has provided thousands of youth from cities, towns and communities named "Burlington" with a cultural exchange and the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports. From 2004-2007, he served as Vice Chair of the B.I.G. organizing committee, a year-long commitment that culminated in a highly successful weekend promoting athleticism, participation and sportsmanship for youth.
